Mysterious Writings

Today when I went to change your diaper, this is what I found!

Compassion

Today I got my feelings hurt for the first time since you were born.  I called Daddy to tell him what happened, and every time I started a fresh wave of tears you would cry out as if you were hurt also.  Your pouty lip would come out and I would have to assure you I was alright.  Sissy doesn’t feed off of my emotions as much as you do, so it is strange for me to see you get so upset just because I am.  What a sweet little guy.

He-Liam

Today Honey came to play with you and Sissy so that Daddy and I could go on a dinner date for his birthday.  She brought Daddy a balloon, and we discovered you love them!  You held it and bounced it around for a long time. I am impressed with your attention span so far!

…my baby you’ll be.

Tonight before bed, we sat in the glider and read the book “I’ll Love You Forever” for the first time.  I had read it a long time ago, but couldn’t remember exactly how it went.  You listened and looked along very well, as always.  It is such a sweet story, and by the time we got to the end, I was in tears.  I think a big part of the reason it was so emotional for me, is because at the end the little boy grows up to have a family of his own.  It has always saddened me that I know that won’t be possible for Sissy.  But at the same time, it makes me so grateful that you have all the potential in the world, to do whatever you choose too.

You love me!

Today is Mommy’s birthday.  Last night you slept for 10.5 hours straight—what a nice gift you gave me: SLEEP.  That is the longest you have ever gone.  Twice before you have gone 10 hours, but you aren’t consistent.  Usually 8 hours is your normal.  That is still a very good job, big boy!

Because you are mine.

I found this online today…it is a video clip we recorded just two weeks before you were born, talking about my love for you, and then later my love for God.  Part of me misses holding you in my belly, but I am so glad I can hold you in my arms now.

Your Verse

I read this Scripture today and claimed it for you. Ezekiel 22:30, “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land…”

Deacon Dad

Today Daddy was ordained as a deacon in our church.  We are all so proud of him!  You have his name: William Bradford.  He is exactly the kind of man I pray you will become as you grow.  He loves Jesus, loves his family, and is truly a man after God’s own heart.  He is such a good role model for you, and I couldn’t think of a better person for you to be named after.

Macho Man

Today we had your two month check up.  You now weigh 13 lbs and 13 oz and are 23.25 inches long.  In a couple weeks I am sure you will be bigger than Sissy.

We had to get a shot today.  As soon as we went into the examination room, you spit your passy out on the floor, so that wasn’t available to calm you down.  I got out a bottle, and asked the nurse if I should feed you while she gave you the shot, hoping it would help you not to notice the shot as much.  She said that you would be very upset and might choke, so save it for after.  I held your hand as you laid on the table, and waited for her to give you the shot. I watched you grunt, and then the nurse said that she was all done.  I thought I misunderstood, but nope, she had really given you the shot.  She said, “That’s a first!  I have never just gotten a grunt before!” You didn’t even flinch or frown!  I am so proud of you.  With all that Sissy has gone through, I keep joking that you are really going to have to be sick or bleeding to get any sympathy from me.  Not much can compare with what she has endured. So for your own sake, I am glad you are so tough!
